That NEW Adage

A pressure-relief valve about God, and just about everything else.

Paula! A Car is Coming! Get Out Of The Street!

I saw Paula White on television last night and was struck by how sordid and stained all this recent mess is. She had to repeatedly make reference to her “situation” when she should have been ministering what “Thus sayeth the Lord.” Juanita Bynum has been doing the same thing.

Yes, we all have sinned and FALL short of the glory of God. None of us knows what tragedies and scandals await us. As Paula repeatedly said, “you haven’t lived your whole life yet.” (“hint to all of you who are watching and judging me…”) I may wind up divorced one day, who knows, I can’t make her stay if she leaves, but I know this: I won’t cheat on my wife, and I won’t leave her because we can’t “reconcile our differences!” There are sins I know I won’t commit. By the perseverance of the Lord, I say this, and not by my own self-righteousness. No one can snatch me from His hand, or bind Him up and clean Him out.

But being a victim of misfortune is quite different than DELIBERATELY sinning! Winding up paralyzed from a car accident is not the same as robbing a bank and getting shot in the spine. You, your husband, and the Bynums can CHOOSE not to get divorced. You can choose, too, not to indulge your fleshly greed by pimping the Word.

These couples clearly prostitute Scripture for their own sordid gain. (And kill all of the noise about them “Speaking to my situation and making me feel better about myself.” A psychiccan do that, and they charge WAY less! You want to feel better? Get a massage!) Their heresy and blasphemy can be, and has been, proven. But because they have “style,” and strut and step like roosters, people ignore their biblical foulness.

It is just shameful that TBN’s ratings spike when these women are on because people want to see what they have to say. I saw only the last few minutes (flipping channels) and what I immediately noticed was that she looked some old singer trying to make a comeback after going to rehab, or getting out of prison. She looked like Bleek Gilliam in “Mo’ Better Blues” after he got smashed in the mouth with his horn. (the Black folk will get that reference) For the White folks, she looked like Frank Sinatra, in that old movie about singer/comedian Joe E. Lewis, trying to sing again after having his throat cut.

She looked like Bambi on I-40. Frozen stiff. Had I not known of her, I’d have been praying to the Lord to help this po’ chile get through her first sermon. That sermon was peppered with admonitions not to judge, a clear reference to those who have been condemning her behavior and demanding for her to step down. At least Jimmy Swaggart appeared to have apologized. “I have sinnnned agin’ Theeee!”

It would be one thing if she were teaching orthodoxy, but she can be seen begging for money for the “Day of Atonement” (doesn’t she KNOW that Jesus did all that??? She must!), using Bible chapters and verses to get folk to send 119 dollars and 15 cents, or such madness, and adding to God’s specific revelation by allegedly prophesying what the Spirit spoke to HER. I saw Ed Norton do the same thing in, “The Illusionist!” Her ministry is founded in sin. Based on materialism and self-esteem. God is her pinata, not her Lord and Master. Her marriage, along with that of the False Profitess, is like an upside-down pyramid. The women are the heads. Not because they make the most money, but because it is clear they are runnin’ thangs, as we say. Their ministries are backward, in that God is not only not the PILOT, but He isn’t even the CO-pilot! He’s a steward in the back somewhere. The PARTNERS are the co-pilots!

One particular thing I picked up was that she said that “Suffering ain’t sickness or poverty, nooo, that’s religion, a trick of the enemy, suffering is persecution…!” To the cheers of her almost all female audience. That was slick, because the whole Word of Faith line is a well body and some cash! If suffering included poverty and cancer, then it could be said that God ordains that (since He said we WILL suffer), and we couldn’t use our FAITH to change it, and sister Paula would have to either get a real job answering phones, or start preaching the Truth and move out of Trump’s building!

It’s just a crying shame that so much teevee time is being wasted by these women defending their sinful actions, scrambling around, trying to put out the fires that incinerate their smoldering empires rather than being used rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

  1. This prooves that women should never preach in any kind of pulpit. I will never listen to a chik when she is standing behind a pulpit ever again. I am tired of this movement that is trying to lift women on the same equation as man. I am all for women’s rights when it comes to treating them equally but to say that they are the same as a man is false and misleading. This fact prooves that we have rejected the Bible and have turned astray from the path that leads to the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

  2. I cannot believe the hypocrites regarding Paula White and Juanita Bynam. The bible teach us to judge not so that we won’t be judged in the manner that we judge other people. I feel what is going on is between Paula White her husband and God! as well as Juanita Bynum her husband and God.I feel a lot of people that are in churches today lose site of God and start to look at the person or person’s as God. and what happens, people start to put ministers up on pedestals and when they fall.they forget that they are human. Instead of praying for them and their church and family “we as people want to stone them. When Jesus said he without sin cast the first stone. It’s very sad,and for some of the people to compare their experiences with Paula White’s and Juanita Bynum’s situation. I found it almost funny, because if you do not live in those homes and do not know everything that goes on in their lives on a day to day basis, you cannot compare your life or experience to theirs. It’s a very very very sad day. Because instead of us seeking God’s face and praying more we are judging, scrutinizing, guessing, assuming. We have “So Much More” in this world that we need to be praying for and about. On the final note “WE ALL FALL SHORT” and becareful of what you say because the bible also teaches us “To touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm. Be Blessed.

  3. You sho hit the nail on the pimp brother. I saw some of that TBN stuff last night and poor Carman was trying his best to say the right thing w/o embarrassing her….HE’S A PIMP TO THO!!I think she looks “stiff” bc she’s had so much plastic surgery. My best friend died 5 yrs ago of cervical cancer. She was a believer and a giver and an avid tither but did not get healed. I don’t know of a better Christian woman than my friend was….but she died believing God didn’t love her enough to heal her bc she didn’t have enough faith. Imagine that….so sad! Why is Randy White’s daughter dying of brain cancer if you can buy God like that? And how could Paula leave him at such a terrible time? What a selfish, self-centered poor excuse for even a PIMP!!

  4. This should be published in the newspapers and Christian Magazines to really get the word out! Some people have such tunnel vision and they mix right living with the money they have to show for their Hollywood acts. People really need to wake up–but, they have to be shaken first! Keep telling the truth. I am one that appreciates it!

  5. Janice, I’m glad you were able to get that “touch not mine anointed…” line in there! I was scared you weren’t gonna get it in. I would have been disappointed. Now, may I refer you to The Bible, where you can actually learn that that passage referred to killing KINGS?? And not about letting wolves run around slaughtering SHEEP. Who, other than they, said they are God’s anointed prophets? If I were a pimp, or a cult leader, I would drill that type of stuff into the minds of my “subjects'” too.

I suggest you read this breakdown of that phrase:
    It is instructive.

  6. excellent post…love tha line about God bein her pinata…sooooooooooooo tru…

i wanna add…i saw tbn when it first showed in chicago…in fact jan & paul were there settin up the stage, bringin chairs in, she had some pink dogs (real) and gold chairs like thrones and i sat watchin like u watch a car wreck, wit the same horror and inability to turn away…and i said to the Lord…this is some fo real witchcraft and they corralled all the big name ministries in one place…

i said all tha to say this: tbn was founded to promote the false doctrines so its not unusual to ratings spike when certain preachas on…i once heard paul crouch state emphatically tha since he had made some deal wit the china gov. to put in satellites for tbn and been able to talk to gov officials, the chinese government assured him there wasnt any persectution of christians goin on in china and the reports of it are false…imagine tha….

    anyway…good post here…be bless… -g-

  7. And the truth shall set you free! I guess the pink dogs match Jan’s pink hair. Why doesn’t anyone tell her that she looks like a clown in that hair?

  8. Judgement began in the Church years ago. The threshing is revealing the tares, so don’t get too excited. They were planted when the sower turned his back, and as jesus admonished his disciples to eave them alone, so should we. They cannot help but reveal themselves. To those who constantly excuse the antics of church leaders when their credibility is crumbling, I say: Study Matthew 24 where the Master reveals that gross deception will be the order of the day when the perdition is revealed in all its questionable glory. Stop looking for a single person and look right within the church. And take care lest you also be deceived!

  9. Wow. I could actually weep over what has been written here. Seriously, open your eyes to see things as the Father does. I believe it breaks His heart when His children canabalize each other…. please consider your heart and the fact that without a relationship with those you judge YOU REALLY DON’T HAVE A CLUE. There should be great fear and trembeling before the Lord when bringing correction to the life of one of His children, after all, He is not a child abuser, we shouldn’t be either. I would suggest that each other seek to pull out the gold that is in one another and not the dirt. We are all aware of our own dirt. My final thought is this, it is written that they will know that we are Christians by our love. How are you known as a result of your opinion? A harsh and religious Pharisee or a Christian, which means little Christ? I pray mercy on this situation, most definitely for the White’s, but more so for the Body of Christ that now has the challenge of choosing how we will respond.

  10. We I became a christian i had a hunger for the Word and I read and reread the Bible over 10 times gaining new insights each time and I haven’t read anywhere that a women is to preach, what i have read is that we are to fight for the true faith, that judgement will start in the House of God and that we are to judge(discern) one another in the faith just not in hypocracy. So everyone out there who’se trying to sound spiritual need to really do more personal bible study. God loved Mose too but because he disobeyed God he didn’t get to go to the promise land and He (God) loved the couple in the early church who lied about how much they gave God took their life so I’d say be careful Church God is not mocked for whatever you sow you shall reap! Wake up people! I watch TBN occationally to gage Christ return based on all the false teaching I’m seeing and what I see tells me it won’t be long.

  11. I once repented for having catapulted an egotistical leader into leadership before he was foundationally prepared, for, indeed, he fell, and split the church. Those who voted him in were responsible for his downfall and the damage to himself and the church!

Some of the writing above proves some haven’t learned the difference between being judgmental and being discerning. Indeed, discernment is one facet of biblical love, as exemplified by Jesus. He said, “..cast the first stone..” BUT he definitely stated to the adulteress, “Go and sin no more.”

Who is more guilty, the ones who catapulted them (Juanita Bynum and Paula White) onto their pedestals or they themselves?

As for TBN, they air both the good and the bad and I’ve enjoyed much of the good and learned a lot, too. I’ve learned new dimensions to scripture from the “seasoned” scholars who teach Jesus as He was/is!

TBN takes its good and bad all over the globe but, certainly, they’ve taken the Gospel to most all countries and truth is truth, no matter the messenger. Muslims and others are accepting Christ as a result.

    It’s the baby-out-of-the bathwater thing.

Paul and Jan can make mistakes, too, as we all can and do. But no one is too big to repent, confess and be forgiven.

As with Paula and Juanita, we all must indeed come to brokenness before our Lord throughout our lives.

I’ve learned it’s better to go back to where I got off track in order to best get back on track!

Paul and Jan, Paula and Juanita are no different in the sight of God. I pray they will deny self and pride and get back on track. Paul and Jan should help those two by first repenting of placing them too soon, then by helping the two women learn brokenness with loss of ego. Pride was Adam’s sin.

I hope this has been a tiny lesson to those who automatically assume that everyone who writes that they should step down is judgmental, for some of us are in fact discerning, keenly aware of scripture.

  14. I believe that Jesus died for all situations of this world no matter what the case is .I think that we all have sinned and are still sinning. It should be a time as a christian to know that the bible is true and that there is false teachers and leaders out here today it’s already written. I think that as christians we should ask God to lead us in our faith because of the mess that people sit under..These hypocrites are bringing Christ closer to his return.God word says, He that covers his sin never prosperous but whoever confess and renounces them finds mercy..(proverb 28:13)I will continue to pray for the people and the mess that they are in because the devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I will not let this situation make me loose may faith in Christ because my family and I will not give the devil victory over us..I believe on judgement day we may all believe that we did this and that but God is the true judge of it all..

  15. again I would sugjest that everyone take a careful reading of Holy Scriptures to much is given to much is required. The Bible say that everybody sins and he who says they have not is a liar and the truth is not in him so we all should be able to cut these people some slack there but the same bible also said a little leaven leavens the whole lump(Un truth or error)1Cor.5:6b. When you start excepting error simple because you want to feel spiritual or loving just remember what the Lord called Peter who was showing his loving concern for Jesus when he tried to tell Jesus to stop talking negative(His death) and Jesus told him “get behind me Satan. God’s plan this whole thing Himself and then gave us the Blueprint(Bible) to construct our lives around ANYONE! who deviates even with the best of motives is an antichristan(Satan)because you’ve acknowledge that God’s plan somehow is flawed.Take your faith seriously let God be true all else a liar. Take a stand and agree with what the scriptures even if its unpopular to do so.

Comment by Big Al | September 18, 2007 | Reply

  16. Why do people always respond with “All Have Sinned!” You know what? That statement is not meant to be an excuse for sin. It’s a declaration that we are SINNERS, and that we need Jesus. The scriptures: Romans 3:22-24 speaks of our justification, because of Jesus’ death on a cross. Without the ultimate sacrifice, we would be in dire straits. Thank Him! I do — but that has NOTHING to do with our accountability and how we are to live, before God and man.

There’s a standard, people. WOE to those, who sit back and say nothing, and use Matt 7:1-3 and Psalm 105:15 (two of the most misquoted passages in the bible)as license to be spiritual “zombies”. Please, please “rightly divide” The Word.

As far as not listening to “Women preachers”: Well, what should a woman do, considering the dudes in the pulpit who need to sit down and be silent? However you may feel about “women preachers”, don’t get it twisted. I can name WAY more pulpit “pimps”, than “pimpettes”.

Love you, brother in Christ! Keep it real, stay strong, keep the faith and never let up!

A friend, who loves at all times,
    A sister, born for adversity…

  17. Wonderfully said, anappygirl! Perfect. I get tired of hearing that used as an excuse, too. What is the point in belaboring an obvious fact? And out of proper context to boot? Thanks for your encouragement, too! By the way, as to your reference to Matthew 7:1-3, DOES NO ONE NOTICE THAT IN THE SAME CHAPTER, VERSE 15 SAYS TO WATCH OUT FOR FALSE PROPHETS? How can one be on guard for false prophets unless one MAKES A JUDGEMENT AS TO WHO A FALSE PROPHET ACTUALLY IS??? Read the Bible like any other book! It is not simply a book of disjointed quotes, folks! Obviously, the judgment meant in verse one means something other than how it is MISused today!
God bless you always. Glad to hear from you, too! Derrick.
